(SOLD) Antique Gold Shield Locket Pendant
Shielded, Protected.
The shield is a symbol of strength and protection. We favor adding one as a personal talisman to any neck stack!
This particular shield beckoned us immediately, upon sight. We were drawn by the strong, clear lines of the shield’s shape and the rich bloomed gold finish. There is not a single embellishment. Its beauty lies in its unadorned simplicity and its solid, tactile feel. Best of all? This shield is a locket, opening to reveal two compartments. Place mementos of loved ones inside, to shield them in love!
Chains and Minigram pendant shown are not included.
Marked for 15 and 625 (for 15k gold) (mark used in UK from 1854 to 1932).
15k gold.
Dimensions and weight:
● 32.2 mm long (including bail)/23 mm long (just the shield)
● 19.3 mm wide
● 5.7 mm deep
● 11.7 grams
Period: Late Victorian to Early 20th Century
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. Bail is quite sturdy — gold wire measures 2.1 mm diameter (if wearing on a dog clip or similar, the clip would need to open wide enough to accommodate).
