Antique Early 20th Century Fancy Link Gold Watch Chain With Dropper Chain and XL Bolt Ring

Antique Early 20th Century Fancy Link Gold Watch Chain With Dropper Chain and XL Bolt Ring
Always at the top of our treasure hunting priorities: a great watch chain, with that something special that sets it apart from the masses.
When the dealer unrolled his cache of chains for our perusal, immediately we knew. THIS chain had that something special. In spades. Was it the perseveringly geometric links (rectangular bars joined by diamond shaped links)? The rich, soft-to-the-touch gold? The three clasps, including the elusive XL bolt? The dropper chain, guaranteeing versatility? Last, but not least, the eminently wearable length? All of it!
This watch chain is in fact 2 chains — a main chain with a dog clip and a large spring ring, plus the dropper chain that terminates in the XL bolt ring. Wear these together end to end or in a Y formation. Maximize utility and use the dropper as a charm holder or extender for other chains in your wardrobe. Of course, hang your signature pendants and charms from any of the three clasps — but definitely that XL bolt!
Trust us — we have found many watch chains, left most behind, but this? We had to have it!
PS: With every attention to detail — see that the rectangular bar link on the dropper chain is on a smaller scale than on the main chain!
Unmarked.
16k gold..
Dimensions and weight:
● 21 inches total; 17.5 inches for the main chain; 3.5 inches for the dropper chain (all measurements inclusive of the clasps).
● 33 mm long x 4.5 wide (rectangular links)
● 1.2 mm deep (rectangular links); 1.4 mm deep (diamond shaped links); 4.3 mm deep (oval links)
● 34.8 grams
Period: Art Deco (1920s).
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age commensurate wear may be present. Note that our bench jeweler made some sensitive restorations to this chain for many more years of life, including lasering closed any loops that were not soldered. The dog clip is ever so slightly less golden than the rest of the chain.
