(SOLD) Antique French Diamond Triple Crescent Moon Convertible Pendant Brooch
Mysterious, Alluring.
We are delighted to offer this scintillating, timeless French crescent moon, circa 1880/90s. Three diamond crescents nestle together, with the central crescent rising higher than the others. Old mine cuts grace the middle crescent and antique rose cuts shimmer in the outer crescents. We adore the dimensionality and high sparkle factor of this coveted French sentimental jewel.
The cherry on top? This beauty can be worn as a brooch or a pendant, offering supreme versatility. The pin, catch, and a new custom-made, hinged, fold down bail are all fully removable via screw-in mechanisms. There may be other crescents out there, but few are fully convertible as ours is. We do love our transforming jewels!
Typical for the period, the diamonds are set in silver, over a gold gallery. In this case, the gold is a mellow rosey gold.
We favor it paired with a substantial antique gold chain, like the Imperial Russian Gold Long Guard Chain shown worn (chains not included).
Marked with French eagle head and maker’s mark (on pin) and French boar head (on silver portion of body).
18k, 14k (new bail), silver, diamond.
Dimensions and weight:
● 40 mm long (including bail) / 34 mm long (not including bail)
● 32 mm wide
● 7 mm deep
● 9.4 grams (with all fittings)
● 2.07 ctw diamond (H/I colors, mixed clarities)
Period: Victorian
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.
