Antique Gold and Diamond “Maria del Carmen” Hinged Bangle

Antique Gold and Diamond “Maria del Carmen” Hinged Bangle
We adore personalized and sentimental jewelry.
This early 20th century jewel captivated us immediately, with its beautiful, flowing inscription for “Maria del Carmen” (Maria is abbreviated) studded with deep antique rose cut diamonds (they are pointy on the back)!
The romance and delicacy of the cursive is balanced by the otherwise clean and minimalist lines of the bangle. Chef’s kiss to us!
We had a similar bangle inscribed “Mariano” a couple of years ago. We are thrilled to find another name bangle, also bearing a Spanish name — this time for a very traditional and devotional name in the Spanish speaking world. Perhaps your beloved mother, grandmother, or aunt is named Maria del Carmen. Or perhaps you love this bangle purely for its beauty and sentiment, as we do.
Fabulous on its own or part of a stack.
Fixed safety chain present. Bangle closes with an audible “click”.
Shown worn on a 6 inch wrist.
18k gold, diamond.
Dimensions and weight:
● 55.5 mm x 51.9 mm inside diameters
● Inside circumference approximately 17 cm
● Opening (when hinged open) is 67.5 mm wide; estimated inside circumference when opened is just under 20 cm.
● 21.8 mm wide
● 35.7 grams
Period: 1900 to 1920s
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. The bangle is in lovely antique condition with the expected surface scratches and some patina on the interior. The bangle is quite reflective; there are some darker areas in the photographs that are reflections of nearby objects. There are no dark marks or notable indentations on the bangle (other than the noted patina on the inside of the bangle).
Sizing note: This bangle does not hinge wide open; please consider the size of your hand as well as wrist. This fits comfortably on our 6 inch wrist, but it was a tighter fit over our hand (we have larger hands).
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
