Antique Edwardian Large Gold Round Locket with Diamond Ribbon Bow Motif

Antique Edwardian Large Gold Round Locket with Diamond Ribbon Bow Motif
Additional photo worn on the body is forthcoming. Please contact us if you require that sooner.
We love lockets — after all, it’s our second name! We search endlessly for the special ones.
We are delighted to offer this exemplar of Edwardian grace — a clean large round gold locket that feels great in the hand, embellished on one side with a festive, swirling rose cut diamond and ruby “ribbon” bow and on the other with an elegant hand inscribed monogram (we see HD or DH). It is not usual to find this kind of bow motif on a locket.
The juxtaposition of “feminine” (the curvy bow) against “masculine” (the geometric shape of the locket) is a perfect balance, in our book. Very yin and yang.
This would make a lovely and thoughtful gift — and it’s already wrapped in a ribbon! (Mother’s Day and graduation season are around the corner).
Original frames present, without glass. Locket closes securely.
Unmarked.
14k gold, diamond, ruby.
Dimensions and weight:
● 47 mm long (including bail)
● 37 mm wide
● 6.7 mm deep
● 14.2 grams
Period: Edwardian
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. We restored the original bail, which was showing some areas of thinning from 120 years of wear.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
