(SOLD) Antique Gold and Diamond “Mariano” Hinged Bangle
(SOLD) Antique Gold and Diamond “Mariano” Hinged Bangle
We adore personalized and sentimental jewelry.
This early 20th century jewel captivated us immediately, with its beautiful, flowing inscription for “Mariano”, studded with antique rose cut diamonds.
The romance and delicacy of the cursive is balanced by the otherwise sleek and minimalist lines of the bangle. The gold is a beautiful, bloomed, rich hue.
Inside the bangle is yet another inscription, commemorating July 16, 1906. We can imagine the significance of that date — perhaps the birth of a child or a beloved husband? A wedding? We might never know — other than to be certain that someone was very much treasured.
Acquired in Spain. Shown worn on a 6 inch wrist.
Unmarked. Inscribed for “16-VII-1906”
At least 14k gold (likely hand mixed gold alloy), rose cut diamonds.
Dimensions and weight:
● 60.5 mm x 50.5 mm inside diameters
● Inside circumference approximately 18.5 cm
● 20.2 mm wide
● 33 grams
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. We note one very small indentation on the back of the bangle, near the hinge side (see video). In our opinion, this is very minor and normal for an antique bangle, but mentioned for completeness.
