Vintage 1970s Chunky and Heavy Gold Curb Link Bracelet with Heart Padlock
Romantic, Edgy.
Before the Love bangle, there was the love bracelet. These were popularized by the Victorians and Edwardians — a curb chain bracelet locked in love by a heart shaped padlock complete with embossed screw heads. We adore the sentiment and the look, but have always searched for weightier, more substantial alternatives.
We are delighted to have found this beauty from the 1970s — in a decidedly hefty and substantial rounded curb link, fastened with the classic sweetheart padlock. The color is a soft, glowy golden yellow (antique versions tend to be rosier in hue). The look and feel is definitively luxurious.
We are confident this will become a jewelry wardrobe favorite. Stack with abandon, or let it fly solo in its chunky glory.
Marked 375 and 9 (for 9k) on each link, along with maker’s initials and date letters for Birmingham, 1973-74 (bracelet) and London, 1973 (padlock).
9k gold.
Dimensions and weight:
● 7.75 inch (not including padlock)
● 11.2 mm wide
● 5.9 deep
● 59.9 grams
Period: 20th Century (1973-74)
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.
