Antique Gold and Diamond Double Love Knot Bangle (4.2 CTW)
Antique Gold and Diamond Double Love Knot Bangle (4.2 CTW)
Enduring, Unbreakable.
We fell instantly in love with this deeply sentimental token of enduring love. Two love knots are entwined — without beginning or end — symbolizing the unbreakable bond of love. The love knots are 3-dimensional, set with sparkling old mine cut diamonds in silver, mounted on a beveled edge gold bangle. Beautiful, fine craftsmanship. We have never seen another love knot bangle quite like this one. We love this with a stack of slim bangles.
Our bangle dates to circa 1900, but the knot is an ancient symbol of the bonds of love and marriage across many cultures, including the Ancient Greeks, Romans, and the Celts (think of the “Hercules knot” and “Celtic knot”). There is a reason why we say “tie the knot”!
Marked with partially obscured Austro-Hungarian conjoined “AV” (import mark in use 1868-1902) and another mark that is partially rubbed (could be an animal head).
Shown on a 6 inch wrist (will spin on a 6 inch wrist). Gold is yellow, with a hint of rosiness.
Safety chain present.
14k gold, silver, diamond.
Dimensions and weight:
● 63 mm x 53.5 mm inside diameters; approximately 7 1/8 inches inside circumference
● 18.3 mm long x 48.5 mm wide (the diamond central ornamental section, including the knot and side diamonds)
● 9.5 mm deep (at deepest section)
● 4.2 ctw old mine cut diamonds (approximately 59 diamonds)
● 20 grams
Period: Late Victorian/Edwardian
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. Our jeweler can size this down by about .75 inches (upon the closest of inspection, we can see that at some point this bangle was enlarged — extremely well done — our jeweler can restore to its original size, at an additional charge).
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
