- Antique French "Toi et Moi" Diamond Cluster Bypass Hinged Bangle, 2.5.CTW (Convertible Diamond Clusters)
Antique French "Toi et Moi" Diamond Cluster Bypass Hinged Bangle, 2.5.CTW (Convertible Diamond Clusters)
Antique French "Toi et Moi" Diamond Cluster Bypass Hinged Bangle, 2.5.CTW (Convertible Diamond Clusters)
Feminine, Romantic.
We love a diamond cluster, but two? Even better!
Chunky, cushiony old mine cut centers are haloed by antique rose cuts — for a sparkle that is brilliant and soft at the same time. The clusters “float” on diamond set knife edge bangles — in an elegant bypass formation, for an instant stacked look.
Such a romantic “Toi et Moi” jewel, circa 1890s.
Safety chain present. Diamonds are set in silver over gold. Gold is yellow, with a hint of rose — typical of French antique gold. Bangle is double hinged, with the clasp at the back.
PS: We just discovered that the diamond clusters screw off and on! At one time, this was a convertible jewel! We can imagine that the clusters would have also been worn on a ring or as earrings (perhaps both). At buyer’s option, we can custom make earring fittings, at an additional cost to be determined.
Shown on a 6 inch wrist. See video for scale on the wrist.
Marked with French owl mark (we believe the bangle is French— not an import; later assayed with the owl due to lack of other legible French hallmark)
18k gold, silver, diamond.
Dimensions and weight:
● 55.5 mm x 50.5 mm inside diameters; approximately 162 mm/ 6.38 inches inside circumference
● 18.7 mm wide/each cluster approximately 10.3 mm in diameter
● 10.7 mm deep (at deepest portion)
● 2.5 ctw diamond (1.3 ctw old mine cut diamonds and 1.2 ctw rose cut diamonds); I-J color, SI clarity on the OMCs and I-J-K colors, VS/SI clarity on the rose cuts.
● 25.2 grams
Period: Victorian
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.
