(DECONSTRUCTION EVENT) Deconstructed Antique French Gold Curb Watch Chain
One Chain, Many Possibilities
We found a lovely antique French watch chain with all the “bells and whistles” — the dog clip, the XL bolt ring, a locket — and all in that characteristically French shade of antique gold (yellow with a touch of rose).
While we do love using a shorter watch chain as an extender, we decided to share the riches, so speak — and deconstructed the chain! Acquire one or all!
On offer are: the XL bolt ring, the dog clip, the locket, a short extender chain of 2.4 inches, and a bracelet length chain of 7 inches with the original open loops at the ends (easily add this to a necklace to create a longer chain and to create a mixed link look). Each component retains its French imprint — the French eagle’s head gold mark.
We think each component is worthy on its own. Wear the bracelet chain with our Lucky 8 or one of the original clasps (we can attach for you). The short extender is an excellent addition for those short chains that need a little extra. The locket has an unengraved tablet at the front, which can be personalized (we’re calling it a “signet” locket). The dog clip is a nice find, always. Our favorite is the XL bolt ring — it multi-tasks as a chain clasp, extender, and charm holder.

*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age commensurate wear may be present. The bracelet length chain has been repaired at some point with lower karat solder at one end of the chain (not readily noticeable); upon request, we can remove that tiny length of the chain for the buyer. For the buyer who purchases all the components, upon request, we can re-construct the original chain’s configuration. We can also attach either clasp to either chain.
