Antique Edwardian Sapphire, Gold, and Enamel Cross Pendant by Carlo and Arthur Giuliano
Antique Edwardian Sapphire, Gold, and Enamel Cross Pendant by Carlo and Arthur Giuliano
Mesmerizing. Exceptional.
We are proud to offer an heirloom-worthy jewel, circa 1900-10, by Carlo & Arthur Giuliano, the sons and successors of Carlo Giuliano. The jewel takes the form of a Greek cross with fleur-de-lis embellishments at the center. Each arm terminates in a tall cabochon Ceylon sapphire that appears to glow from within. The central gemstone — a lovely purple— is a desirable Ceylon star sapphire (star visible in last photo). Polychrome enameling anchors the gemstones. The creators utilized color and proportion masterfully, with craftsmanship that — it goes without saying — is superb.
This jewel is as timeless and chic today in the 21st century as it was at the turn of the 20th. Collectible, but not one to sit in the jewelry box. So wearable. We adore this on a simple wide ribbon, or on a long, large round link gold chain. We think our Victorian French Gold Oval Link Long Chain is the perfect complement (shown here, not included).
Marked “C&AG” for Carlo & Arthur Giuliano on a lozenge at the inside of the bail.
18k gold, sapphire, enamel.

● 62 mm long (including bail)

● 17.5 grams
