Antique French Belle Epoque (Edwardian) Edmond-Henri Becker "Pour Toujours" Pendant
Antique French Belle Epoque (Edwardian) Edmond-Henri Becker "Pour Toujours" Pendant
Endearing, Sentimental.
We love the sweetness of this circa 1900-10 jewel, signed for Edmond-Henri Becker. A young girl, with an armful of flowers is sculpted on the front, and on the reverse, the sentiment “Pour Toujours” (Forever) is engraved among swirls of ivy leaves, symbolic of everlasting love. The beautiful frame is platinum and gold, composed of forget-me-nots and millegrained platinum bezels set with rose cut diamonds. The bail is detachable, if so desired.
We think this love token is a perfect gift to a parent or parental figure. Of course, it is also collectible, as a rarer example of a Becker jewel.
Chains shown not included.
Marked, rubbed hallmarks.
18k gold, platinum, diamond, pearl.
Dimensions and weight:
● 50 mm long (including bail)
● 28.4 mm wide
● 2.6 mm deep
● 10.4 grams

About Edmond-Henri Becker: He was a renowned French goldsmith, sculptor, and medal maker — whose works are in the collections of museums such as The British Museum and the Musée D’Orsay. His life spanned a century (1871-1971), but his works from the Art Nouveau era are best known. Monsieur Becker collaborated with Boucheron, Aucoc, among others, and exhibited at the 1900 World Fair in Paris. (For a comprehensive overview of his work, including images of two other pieces of jewelry with the same young girl as subject, see https://www.richardjeanjacques.com/2019/07/edmond-becker-le-plus-grand-medailleur.html).
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.
