The Deconstructed Series (XVI): Antique Victorian Gold Fancy Chunky Chain
In the Decontructed Series, classic Victorian and Edwardian long chains are reconfigured for modern versatility. Here, a heavyweight Victorian long guard chain, in a bold intricate link, has been divided into 4 layerable chains. Wear one or multiple segments for the ultimate in multitasking.
The three shorter lengths are finished on each end with open loops, custom made to fit the Luck and Lockets Lucky 8 Clasp and Charm Holder. The longest chain retains the original dog clip clasp and is finished with one open loop.
We love wearing these layered or connected with the Lucky 8, suspending our favorite charms and pendants. We also wear the shortest length with our brooches. Consider acquiring two or more chains together to play with the configurations. So many possibilities! The chains, however, are beautiful enough to wear unadorned.
Lucky 8 Clasps and Charm Holders and pendants shown are not included.
Marked “14” for 14k on the dog clip; otherwise unmarked.
14k gold.
Dimensions and weight:
● Chain 1: 15.8 inches long (2 open loops); 15.5 grams
● Chain 2: 16.8 inches long (2 open loops); 17 grams
● Chain 3: 17.8 inches long (2 open loops); 17 grams
● Chain 4: 21 inches long (1 open loop, 1 Victorian dog clip); 23.6 grams
● 4.8 mm wide
● 6.4 mm outside diameter/4.3 mm inside diameter on the loops (slight variations may occur as they are handmade). Note also that the net inside diameter may be slightly smaller as the open loops go through the chain’s links.
Period: Victorian (chains); Contemporary (loops)
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.
