Antique French Belle Epoque Diamond Convertible Pendant/Brooch with Diamond Station Chain
Antique French Belle Epoque Diamond Convertible Pendant/Brooch with Diamond Station Chain
The graceful swirls and swoops of stylized ribbons are so Belle Époque. We are transported to Paris circa 1900 to the beautiful era of prosperity, optimism, and innovation.
We love this jewel for the high contrast of the rich yellow gold against the white diamonds — as well as the pear-shaped diamond pendant that sways and sparkles with each movement.
This piece is such a versatile addition to the jewelry wardrobe. The centerpiece converts between brooch and pendant (the fittings screw on and off), and the companion “diamonds by the yard”-style chain detaches via spring ring clasps.
Wear the brooch on a high necked blouse or at the deep V of a neckline. Swap out the chain to wear with other jewels from your collection. Consider adding a charm or pendant — antique tassels would be perfect — to each side of the chain.
The chain is set with 20 diamonds along its length, in addition to the diamonds in the central decorative motif. Spring ring closures.
Marked with French eagle’s head at the chain (at the double clasps).
18k gold, diamond.
Dimensions and weight:
● 48.7 mm long (pendant/brooch); 46.5 cm long (wearable length on chain), with additional 5 cm drop
● 42.5 mm wide (pendant/brooch); 3 mm wide (chain)
● 10.3 mm deep (including brooch fittings)
● 3.1 ctw diamond (old mine cuts and antique rose cuts) (for the set); 1.93 ctw diamond (pendant/brooch); 1.17 ctw diamond (chain). Largest diamond is a .50 ct, I color, I-1 clarity; the pear-shaped diamond is .31 ct, I-J color, I-1 clarity (with a tiny chip under magnification).
● 18.3 grams total
