(SOLD) Antique Edwardian North Star Guilloché Enamel and Gold Locket
(SOLD) Antique Edwardian North Star Guilloché Enamel and Gold Locket
A masterwork of design and craftsmanship, this circa 1910 locket is ethereal and bold all at once. We see a North Star twinkling against a night sky of rayed guilloché enamel transitioning between blue and gray. The dreaminess is balanced and anchored by the strong hexagonal shape and substantial scale, emphasized by the wide chiseled gold border. Perfection, in our book.
Keep photos of loved ones who are your North Star — the constants in your life who guide your way. Heirloom-worthy.
The locket retains its rims and glass covers and closes properly.
We favor pairing this with a period French sautoir, like the one shown worn (not included).
Marked with unidentified and partially rubbed marks and “18”
18k gold, diamond, enamel.
Dimensions and weight:
● 51.4 mm long (including bail)/39.8 mm long (excluding loop and bail)
● 35 mm wide
● 5.7 mm deep
● .15 ct diamond (old cut)
● 22.5 grams (total)
Period: Edwardian
*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. There is a small, shallow 3 mm line indentation on the reverse of the locket, at around 2 o’clock, not readily discernible (or visible in photographs). Mentioned only for completeness.
*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
