(SOLD) Antique Victorian Era Gold and Diamond Snake Ring

$1,350.00
Sold

The Victorians and Edwardians were mad for snake jewelry — ever since Prince Albert revived an age old fascination with snake adornment when presented Queen Victoria with a snake ring for their engagement.

We found this beauty in Paris — and admired it for its sleek elegance. A slender, coiling body wraps twice, with plenty of negative space, creating volume, with a sense of airiness.

The texture of scales is still visible in glimpses; in other high touch areas, the gold has acquired a smooth, satiny finish, from years of loving wear. We love this!

A single old mine cut diamond set in platinum graces the head of the snake for white sparkle.

Marked with French owl.

18k gold, diamond.

Dimensions and weight:

●  11.9 mm long

●  Diamond .10 ct

●  US size 7.5

●  5.9 grams

Period: Victorian

*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present.

*For deliveries outside of the continental U.S., please contact us for shipping information.
