(SOLD) Antique Victorian Diamond Double Crescent Moon Pendant Brooch

$2,950.00

Mysterious, Alluring.

A classic, timeless Victorian crescent, circa 1890. Two diamond-set crescents, nestled together, shimmer softly. The diamonds are a mix of old mine and antique rose cuts, along with three single cuts (see note below). As was typical for the period, the diamonds are set in silver, over an openwork gallery of gold. The gold is antique yellow — mellow yellow with a hint of rose. Our favorite part? The crescent is convertible between brooch and pendant, offering supreme versatility. The pin, catch, and new custom-made hinged bail are removable via screw-in mechanisms. Finished with a hinged safety latch. We love this worn on a substantial doubled antique chain, as shown.

Chain shown is not included.

Marked with French owl and swan.

18k gold, 14k (new bail), silver, diamond.

Dimensions and weight:

●       33 mm long

●       7.5 mm wide

●       5.5 mm deep

●       6.8 grams (with the brooch fittings)

●       1.75 ctw diamond (H/I colors and mixed clarities)

Period: Victorian

*Please note that all dimensions and weights are approximate. Age-commensurate wear may be present. Note that at least three of the smallest antique rose cut diamonds have been replaced with single cut diamonds.
