A special cameo ring, so elegant in proportion and design. A classical goddess in profile is carved from sardonyx in tones of toffee and cream. The artist used the natural layers of the stone to wonderful effect — admire the leaf accenting the coiffure. The cameo portrait is framed by a sparkling halo of 13 antique cut diamonds — old mine cuts and a table cut — set in silver collets over gold.

The portrait is closed backed and the diamonds are open backed. The plaque contours are curved, to hug the finger comfortably. This beauty dates to the early 19th century, with a double wire shank, possibly a period appropriate replacement.

Marked with French owl and swan.
