(SOLD) Antique Art Nouveau Lily of the Valley ("Return to Happiness") Locket
A return to happiness.
The lily of the valley blooms early, in May, a herald of glorious spring after a long winter. For centuries, it has been a symbol of good luck, and in the language of flowers — a return to happiness.
This American-made early 20th century locket is graced by a beautiful maiden with flowing locks, emerging from the foliage of the lily of the valley, surround by the delicate blooms. The look is very much reminiscent of Alphonse Mucha. Two old cut diamonds sparkle against the rich patina of the gold.
Our locket is larger than the usual. It opens via a hinge at the bottom to display two sides for your personal mementos. The compartments retain their rims and covers.
A lovely statement locket for someone born in May — and such a gorgeous sentimental gift of love.
