(SOLD) Antique Art Nouveau "Strength and Courage" Eagle Gold Medallion Pendant

(SOLD) Antique Art Nouveau "Strength and Courage" Eagle Gold Medallion Pendant
The eagle is an age-old symbol across cultures of strength, power, and courage. A majestic eagle with outspread wings, perched on a tree, is modeled in high relief in this circa 1900 medallion. It is wonderfully weighty and tactile. Details abound — plumage, leaves of the oak tree (another symbol of strength) — with each rendered in artful three dimension. An old cut white diamond set in a millegrain platinum bezel provides a glittering accent. Perhaps just as beautiful as the front, the reverse of the medallion is inscribed with a monogram for “SB” or “BS”, framed by an engraved wreath of laurel leaves, a symbol of triumph.
Wear this special medallion as a talisman of your own strength and courage. Selected as a Luck and Lockets “Power Pendant.”
Chain shown is not included.
Marked 18k.
18k gold, platinum, diamond (estimated .10 ct).
