(SOLD) Georgian Garnet Half Hoop Ring

(SOLD) Georgian Garnet Half Hoop Ring
Seven oval garnets are set in a half hoop ring, circa 1810. The garnets, tapering from the center, spread over the front and sides of the finger, for great coverage. The shank is a double headed snake, with a cross-hatched pattern worn over time, but still visible.
The stones are set closed backed, and care should be taken not to get the ring wet.
At least one garnet is a replacement, and the shank may be an antique replacement.
Special and one-of-a-kind. Great stacked with other Georgian hoop rings and bands.
Unmarked
14k on the shank, a little lower on the collets, garnet.
Dimensions and weight:
● 7.5 mm long (center stone)
● 5.5 mm wide (center stone)
● 2.5 mm deep
● 3.3 grams
● US size between 7 to 7.25 (slightly off-round)
